Mumps vaccination update
WellCare along with most other single vaccine providers in the UK is experiencing a delay in the delivery of Mumpsvax, the single component Mumps vaccine from Merck in the USA. We apologise for this delay which is due to Merck continuing to push forward the packaging of other vaccines before Mumpsvax.
Because Merck are unable to guarantee a shipping date for this vaccine, WellCare will only take payment for Measles and Rubella vaccinations. We will place you on a waiting list in order of when you booked your Measles and Rubella and notify you as soon as we receive our shipment to arrange your child's appointment.
This delay does not affect the Measles and Rubella vaccines and recommend that you still proceed with both of these vaccines in the primary and booster course.
In the meantime we understand that you may have concerns about delaying the Mumps vaccination. If, when you send in your application form you would like a WellCare doctor to discuss this with you please indicate this on the form.
Until we receive Mumps vaccine, please pay for Measles and Rubella only.
If you are due to pay £310 for all three, please make an initial payment of £206.66 for Measles and Rubella. The Mumps vaccination payment will be required when we receive the vaccines, which will be £103.34
If you are due to pay a discounted (loyalty or sibling discount) rate of £279 for all three, please make an initial payment of £186 for Measles and Rubella. The Mumps vaccination payment will be required when we receive the vaccines, which will be £93.
What to do if you have already paid for all three vaccines and have had your Measles and Rubella but are waiting for Mumps vaccine.
You have been placed on a waiting list in order of when you were due to have your Mumps. We will call you to arrange your appointment as soon as we receive Mumps vaccines. (We will call parents in rotation, those waiting the longest first.)
