Dermal Fillers
Often a combination of VISTABEL® with another cosmetic medical treatment is recommended to manage other facial lines and restore the fullness and softness to your face. This fullness and softness is reduced as skin loses its elasticity and tone. Dermal fillers help to restore the skin's volume and initial form.
FACE at WellCare offers Hydrafill® by Inamed Aesthetics an Amercian company who are now part of Allergan the makers of BOTOX® and VISTABEL®. Inamed Cosmetics were the forerunners of non surgical cosmetic treatments as the creators of collagen.
These dermal fillers are made with biodegradable non animal hyaluronic acid and are similar to the hyaluronic acid found in the skin. Hyaluronic acid plays an important role in moisturising the skin as it becomes less abundant and wrinkles start to form.
Hydrafill® treatments generally last between 6 and 9 months. At your treatment consultation the WellCare doctor will discuss how each treatment works and what your realistic expectations should be.
What happens during your treatment?
To minimise discomfort a local anaesthetic cream is applied to the area to be treated 30 minutes before. For lip treatment, a dental block anaesthetic is used. The WellCare doctor will discuss which of the dermal fillers is most suitable for a particular area to be injected. Different dermal fillers can be used to treat different areas:
- Hydrafill® 1 for fine lines around the eyes and vertical lip lines.
- Hydrafill® 2 is for medium lines and wrinkles such as naso-labial (nose to mouth) lines, glabellar lines (vertical lines between the eyebrows) and oral commisures (corner of mouth).
- Hydrafill® 3 is for deeper lines and wrinkles such as the naso-labial lines. It can also be used for enhancing the border on the lips and chin and cheek augmentation.
- Hydrafill® Softline is for lip definition, vertical lip lines and forehead wrinkles.
Hydrafill® Softline Max is for deep naso-labial folds, lip volume, oral commissures, lower cheek areas, chin and deep jaw lines.

Are there any side effects?
There may be some slight redness, swelling and tenderness and occassionally some localised bruising. This is normally temporary and will disappear after a few days. The initial swelling after lip treatment may last longer and on occasions a temporary palpable lump may be felt. If you have previously suffered form cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores. Possible side effects will be discussed in more detail at your pre-treatment consultation with the WellCare doctor.
