Anti-Wrinkle Treatments Anti-Wrinkle Injections Vistabel® formerly known as Botox® is a muscle relaxing agent which, when used in small doses can soften and smooth lines of expression. Treatment can take as little as 10 minutes and most people return to normal activities immediately afterwards. Results may take up to 14 days to take full effect and generally last between 3 to 4 months. How does it work….? Vistabel® works in a targeted way to relax the specific muscles that cause frown lines to form. A minimally invasive procedure, administered in a few tiny injections directly into the targeted muscles to block nerve impulses that trigger wrinkle-causing muscle contractions which create a temporary smooth and improved appearance. Often a combination of Vistabel® with another cosmetic medical treatment (dermal filler) is recommended to manage other facial lines and restore the fullness and softness to your face. What should I expect during my consultation? The WellCare doctor will advise you of the area or areas that can be treated, and what you should expect once the treatment has been given. A fine needle is used to inject the Vistabel® into the appropriate area(s). How long will the treatment last? Treatment usually lasts between 3 and 4 months. For long term gain we recommend that you have about three treatments in the first year and in the second and subsequent years you should only need two treatments yearly to maintain the desired effect. What side effects may I expect following treatment? Some people experience a slight discomfort whilst the treatment is being adminstered. Generally any redness and swelling at the injection site will disappear after a few hours. Ptosis, should it occur is the drooping of the upper eyelid and is temporary in nature and very rare.
