Minor Surgery Procedures

Do you suffer from cysts, warts or scars on your face or body?
Maybe you have a cluster of skin tags in your armpit?
Perhaps you have a mole that you catch when you are dressing?
Have you thought about having them removed but unsure how to proceed?

WellCareWellCare offers a variety of minor surgery procedures including removal of lesions such as sebaceous cysts, seborrhoeic warts, polyps, moles and unsightly scars, all under local anaesthetic.

Carrying out minor surgical procedures under local aneasthetic allows for minimal disruption to your life.  With procedures generally taking less than 30 minutes you can resume normal activities very quickly.

Our surgical team is led by Mr Michael Lutterloch FRCS who is currently Clinical Director of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery at Bath's Royal United Hospital.  Mr Lutterloch is supported by WellCare G.P. Dr Freya Evans MRCGP and WellCare Clinic Nurse Susan Chesworth RGN.

Mr Lutterloch carries out all facial procedures, whilst Dr Evans carry out all procedures on the body.  Our clinic nurse undertakes assessment consultations and carries out some procedures herself such as removal of warts and verrucae.

Before any procedure can take place you will require an assessment consultation.  For  facial procedures the assessment is carried out by our clinic nurse.  At this consultation your lesion will be examined and the nurse will take a relevant medical history and a photograph. She will explain to you how the lesion can be removed.  After your consultation the assessment and photograph will be reviewed by our surgeon.

For procedures to be carried out on the body Dr Evans can generally carry out an assessment and proceed with surgery at that consultation if you wish.

In general all procedures can be carried out within two weeks of booking your appointment.

You do not require a referral from your GP although WellCare with your agreement will advise your GP on what procedures have been carried out and the results of any laboratory tests.
